I have almost finished my final week in the MTC! My next email will be from France! Ahhh this can't be happening already! Only 3 more days until I am on the plane! Haha we are all so excited! One of the things I am excited about is that I get to sleep on the plane. I have been so tired so I can't wait to take a nap, haha. On Sunday our branch president had some of us go to this special meeting. So my district and some in the other district were all in this room wondering what was going on. Then one of the elders told us that our zone was chosen to help with the Sunday and Tuesday devotionals. We realized that some of us would have to say the pray. And then we realized that we would have to pray in English. We can't pray in English! Haha, we started talking about it and we were picturing going up to the stand with a moment of silence, then turning to President Martino (the MTC President) and ask, "so... how do I start this?" we had not prayed in English for so long that we could only pray in French. So we were joking about it, but we're nervous about it at the same time. Then our branch president came in and told us about it and said, "for the devotional tonight we will have Sister Glazier say the opening prayer..." my eyes went wide and internally I was doing a little scream. Haha, everyone looked at me with the look on their face of "good luck". So the rest of the day I was practicing how to pray in English. Haha, I honestly never thought that that would happen. Anyways, it was devotional time and my companion and I and two other elders from our zone were sitting up on the stand. While waiting for it to start I kept go over how to pray in my head. I was so nervous! Anyways I said the prayer... In English!! Haha, but half way through I started to wonder what language I was speaking (it was English don't worry). It was such a good experience though. It was fun sitting on the stand and talking with the MTC presidency and the speaker (who happened to be from Springville!). I got to do it on Tuesday too because my companion was saying the prayer, so we got to meet a member of the seventy which was cool. One the highlights of the week was seeing Ashlyn! We got to have lunch together for her birthday. And we just happened to be wearing the same thing, so it is probably obvious that we are sisters. Haha, some of the elders thought she was a missionary. Haha, we had a good goodbye which was nice. For a fun fact, Sœur Hughes likes to interpret dreams. Her grandma was really into dreams so she gave Sœur Hughes all these books about it. So during our meal times we would tell her our dreams and she would interpret them for us. It was very interesting to say the least.
We had our last Skype TRC this week and it was super good. I really enjoy talking to native speakers, even though I don't understand everything they are saying. It makes me so excited to go out into the field! Speaking of the field, we had our In-field orientation where they just told about the things that we will be expected to do. We talked about tracking and how to effectively do it. So in our class later that day we practiced tracking in french and were told how to do it properly with the French people. It was actually pretty good, even though we failed a few times haha. Overall it was a really good week. I am going to miss the MTC and my district, but I am so excited to be in France! I love you all and hope everything is well! Sœur Glazier

I can't believe another week has already gone by! It feels like I was just writing home yesterday, haha. This week was so good! Wahoo! So one of the counselors in our branch makes homemade grape juice and he brought some for us and it was so good! Apparently he has a vineyard in his backyard and there are about 75 different types of grapes. They will pick them and then put them in this huge steamer. I can't remember everything, but I can say that it is so good. They have 9 different types and 6 is my favorite, not that it means anything, but it is so good and that unfortunately is all I can say. I wish I could send some haha. On a sad note, the older district left us and went out into the field. I am going to miss them but I am so excited for them and all the good that they will be doing. But we did get a new district! So the night before they all came we decided to go to bed early, but around 10:30 some sisters opened our door. We were so confused and they were all speaking different languages. All these sisters just started coming into our room and we were like who are you and how did you get in our room?! Anyways we found out this sister that we didn't know about was going to move in with us, so she got a room key and was going to put all of her stuff in the room. Haha, but she didn't know we were in there. But she is super nice. She has been here for 9 weeks to learn English and now she is here for 6 week more weeks to learn French (I think her first language is Japanese but I don't know). Everyone in the new zone is so great and I can't wait to get to know them better! This week we had our first TRC Skype. It was so cool! We got to Skype and share a message with a sister in France. It was fun to actually talk to someone from France. I learned a lot from it, mostly about things that I need to work on, which is good. We also learned head, shoulders, knees, and toes in french. We were all tired one day, so our teacher had us go outside and do it. It was the best! I think it sounds better in french, haha, most things sound better in french. I know I can't pronounce it for you, but I know the words! La tête, les épaules, les genoux, à pied... Les yeux, les oreilles, le bouche, le nez haha. There is also this really good song that is only in the French hymn book called Souviens-toi. It is our favorite song! You all should listen to it, even if you don't understand it, but that's what Google translate is for! On Tuesday Elder M. Russell Ballard came and spoke to us. It was so good! The whole week we were guessing an Apostle was coming because for choir we were singing a special song (Lead Kindly Light). Anyways he talked to us about the most important thing as a missionary, which is to bring others unto Christ. He shared an experience with us about when his son was on a mission. His son emailed him and said that he was having a hard time and didn't feel like he was a successful missionary. Elder Ballard wrote back to his son saying that you are successful when you are doing your very best to bring others to Christ. He also said that every night when you kneel down to pray, tell Heavenly Father that you did your very best to bring others to Christ. I really liked that and it is something I am going to try to keep in mind through out my mission. I have super super good news! WE GOT OUR FLIGHT PLANS TODAY AHHHHHH! We are going to be flying out on Monday the 27th and we leave the MTC in the morning. We are going to be traveling forever! We fly from Salt Lake to Detroit, then from Detroit to Paris, and then Paris to Lyon. We will be traveling all day Monday and we get to Lyon early on Tuesday. We are all so excited!! But we are also a little sad because we won't be flying with the Paris district, but we will be able to say our goodbyes. I am so excited to go out in the field but I am going to miss my district and zone so much. They have become such good friends, and I can't imagine being in the mission field without them. But it will be good. Soeur Hughes, Sœur Thorn and I are already planning a trip to go back to France the August we get back. We are going to have Sœur Hughes show us around England and then take the train to France, haha. I have been so blessed to know all the people here. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for them. Well I think that is everything. Besides all of that I am still going to class, eating food, sleeping, learning French, etc. I hope everything is well! Love Sœur Glazier Learning French! Night time snack. Saying goodbye! Trente trois! With Soeur Thorn Soeur Thorn got to be a ghost buster during service! Travel plans to Lyon!!!
Soeur Glazier says thank you for the comments! Since she can't actually look at the blog, I copy and send the comments to her. She loves receiving messages! French Zone at the beginning of the week. What a week of learning French! That is pretty much all I do. Learn French, hahaha. We were in class talking about something, and my teacher asked me if I understood him. I wasn't really listening so I asked him to repeat it, but instead of saying répéter I said repentir which means repent. I said it and I was like what have I done! I told my teacher to repent! Haha, he said it was OK since my purpose is to teach repentance and baptize converts. Anyways this week one of the sisters in our zone left for her mission. As a zone we all got together and said goodbye as she got on this bus. I can't believe that will be me in 3 weeks! But we got some more sisters in our zone. We got three sisters going to Tahiti, a sister and an elder going to Barbados, and an elder going to Madagascar. The sisters going to Tahiti have to learn French and Tahitian so they will be here for 12 weeks. I feel so blessed that I'm not going there. It has been fun to get to know them. Next week the other missionaries in our zone will be going off on their missions. I don't know what I am going to do without them. They all have such amazing personalities and I will miss them so much, but I know they are going to do amazing on their missions. This week was one of the elders birthday so we got to learn how to sing happy birthday in Tahitian. Maohana oaoa no'oa. Haha, it's really fun to say. Tahitian is super cool, but it is nothing like English. As a district we got on the topic of spirit animals. After somewhat of a conclusion, we have decided that I am a bunny. Haha, all I can say is that it was an intense conversation. As a district we have also become good friends with page 33 in the missionary handbook which talks about flirting. Haha we are always joking with each other about it. Whenever we see anyone doing something that is considered "flirting" we say trente trois (33). We also do this 33 sign that I can't explain haha. Anyways the MTC life has been great and it's been the same. I think I'm starting to loose my voice so I am hoping that this isn't going to be the French curse haha. I love you all and hope you are all enjoying the nice weather. Sœur Glazier Daryl saw her for about 2 minutes this week and in that 2 minutes had her teach the first missionary lesson in French. Laundry! Hebdomadaire means weekly, but we think it sounds like the name of a dinosaur. Sœur Hughes and Sœur Glazier French Zone at the end of the week.
Had a special treat on Tuesday with video of Maddy reciting Joseph Smith's first vision in French. She says in the last 3 days it sounds even better. :) Ahhh, I can't believe I am almost half way done with my time here at the MTC! Time here at the MTC really does go by fast after the first week. Anyways, nothing has really happened this week. I just go to classes and eat food, haha. It doesn't sound like a lot of fun, but everyone in my zone helps make it all worth it. The French is coming along slowly but surely. After being in the MTC for about two weeks I decided to try Duolingo (language learning app) again, and it said I was 12% fluent!! (Right before going into the MTC she was at 11%) Haha, I hope I am more fluent than that. To help with the French I have set goals with my companions. Like everyday we have to speak franglais. Just so you know it is a lot harder than you would think. But the French is coming! I have been able to understand a lot more than what I used to. Since we are trying to speak franglais, we were speaking it around the campus and someone was like "bonjour! " and then he started to speak to us in French and we were so surprised that we just stood there wondering what on earth he just said to us. As we talked to him more we found out that he is from France and he is from Toulouse which is in our mission! It was so cool! We got to talk to him a little bit about what it is like and how our French was going. Anyways it was really exciting and it made me even more excited to go serve there. This week we went to a little work shop that was for teachers and we were like their experiment mice. We had to teach the teachers as if they were investigators. So we had to invite them to be baptized, and they had to say no. We would then have to be guided by the Spirit to know which questions we needed to ask to help them. It was so cool! The Spirit really does give you the words that you need at that moment, even if you are only teaching teachers. From that lesson I learned how important it is to follow the Spirit. Heavenly Father knows what each of us needs, and He can tell us through the Spirit of we are listening. After that experience one of the French teachers had to correct our French. Apparently instead of saying Saint Esprit (which means the Holy Ghost) we were saying cent esprit which means a hundred spirits, haha. Overall p-day has been wonderful. We get to go to the temple which I always look forward to. And today was a special p-day because I got to see Ryan! I loved seeing him. I gave him a hug which I probably shouldn't of done, haha, oh well. But it was really fun seeing him. Well, I love you all! Love, Sœur Glazier Color coordinating. On Mondays they wear red. Waiting for devotional. French Zone Sœurs of the French Zone Heehee, I found a pic of Dad while walking around. (Just like playing Where's Waldo) Perfect timing for 7th grade Job Shadow Day. Ryan joining Maddy for lunch in the cafeteria.
