Another week has come and gone with adventures as usual! We started the week off well with some good lessons and some service. This week we were also finally able to have a lesson with our ami Pa...! He has been on vacation and he is finally back! So Soeur Perry got to meet him for the first time which was really exciting. Pa... had a baptismal date for the 8th of July, but he wasn't ready. We finally had another lesson with him and he told us how much he wants to get baptized and that he knows that that is what he is suppose to do, but the thing that is blocking him is the law of chastity. He knows what he needs to do but because of his situation he can't get married and he can't leave her. After listening to him my wonderful bleue, Soeur Perry, followed the spirit and brought up the law of the fast. So we talked with him about it and invited him to fast and told him that we would be fasting with him. Pa... is so cool! He has so much faith and hope and trust in the Lord. This week we went to do some contacting, but since I have been here for a while we have been trying to go to new places that I have not been to. So we decided to take the tram all the way to the end since it looks like a nice area. We get on and it started going, but because if the construction it ended sooner than we expected. We decide to just go along with it and get off and start walking, but there is no one. There doesn't even seem to be life in this area, it all seems like a ghost town. Eventually we get a little lost and can't even find anyone to ask for directions, and it starts raining! At this point we realize that we have come to a university, so of course if is a ghost town, at least for now. Actually most of Grenoble has seemed empty. We walk the streets we always do and there is like no one. Everyone is on vacation right now so Grenoble has been super quiet. But we get to see lots of backpackers! Sunday was Soeur Perry's birthday, so we celebrated the very best we could. I made her crepes and I even made salty crepes! It was super good! We even tried to put candles in it, but it didn't work super well. We even got pelted with hail! I tried to open my umbrella but the wind was too strong! I love the mission! And I especially love being a missionary in France Lyon! -Soeur Glazier District Meeting (holding up what transfer number they are on, Elders are 16 transfers, Sisters 12 transfers) With our ami Ro... I asked if we could do a funny face, she laughed then flat out said no, but I did one anyway. We finally took Les Bulles (the cable cars) up to the Bastille!

This week we had exchanges! I love exchanges, it's always nice to experience something different. We were at the gate waiting for the STLs (Sister Training Leaders) and this guy comes up to us saying, "mademoiselle, you are so beautiful" and all this stuff. We said thank you, but no one really does that in France, so we knew something was up. We were right because right after that he wanted us to give him money. We politely declined, then he asked if we were French. We said no and he asked if we were American. We said yes and he then had the desire to give us a bisous (a kiss on the cheek thing). I quickly went into panic mode saying, "non". It was awful! Sadly it wasn't the first time, but it is always so scary, haha. He eventually left and soon the STLs showed up and I was so happy! I got to spend the next day with Soeur Jones. We were able to do some service and teach some lessons. It was so much fun! The next day when we were leaving we had to try to get to the gare (train station) without the STLs. Somehow I got us to the gare through all the buses and metros. Friday there was a wedding. It was so fun! We had good food and even got to take some flowers home! On our way back we had to walk through a lightening storm which was a little scary. This week I just was doing all these crazy things that I never would of thought I could do! Actually I think that about being on a mission in general, haha. We went to do some contacting this week, but I really wanted to go to a part of Grenoble that I had never been to. So we decided to take one of the trams all the way to the end. We did and we tried walking around, but there was no one out. We walked for a little bit more but decided to turn around since there was no one to talk to. We get to the tram and decided to try and contact with the people we would sit with. So a lady sat down next to me and I said hi and that I like her bag. I was just trying to be nice and start a conversation. Not very long after she moved to the seat on the other side of the tram. That was a little sad. Then another lady sat by me and I said hi and she looked at me for a little bit with a look of "why are you saying hi to me?" Then she said hi and pulled her phone out. It was sad, but I tried and that is the best I can do! Later that day we were getting on another tram and this guys said something to me that I didn't understand, so I kind of ignored it. Then he came up to me on the tram and said, "aren't you Russian?" I replied, "no, I'm American". Apparently when I was getting on the tram he spoke to me in Russian because he thought I was Russian. Which made me feel better that I didn't understand because for a second I was thinking "wow, my French is really bad". Nope, it was Russian, I'm good. From that he asked what we were doing here which led into a discussion about the church. It was super cool but we only had enough time to give him our card. Some days are hard when it comes to talking to people, but i know that as we are trying Heavenly Father is blessing us and giving us little tender mercies. Today we got to go to a castle and then we went on a hike to see some caves. Sadly the caves cost money, but we got to enjoy a beautiful hike to the waterfalls! I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week! - Soeur Glazier Us with one of the members. Somehow I have been on the mission for 6 months. I have no idea how it happened, but wahoo! This week has been a little sad. Everyone is on vacation here, so we haven't been able to meet with our amis. And when we walk through the streets it feels like no one is around. It has been kind of weird. But on the 14th of July France had their Independence day. There was a huge firework show at the Bastille and there was also a huge party. Sadly, our apartment doesn't face the Bastille so we didn't get to watch the firework show. But we could hear it and we could see the flash, so it sounded good. Big party for France! This week we had an awesome lesson with our amis R.... We had a member come and help us which made it even better! We had planned on teaching the plan of salvation, but he told us that he didn't read the Book of Mormon or pray. So we threw our plans out the window and pulled out the Book of Mormon. We turned to Moroni 10:3-5 and talked about how he can receive an answer if he asks sincerely with real intent. Then we, along with the member, bore our testimonies about the Book of Mormon and that we knew he would receive an answer if he would follow Moroni's promise. The Spirit was so strong and I knew he could receive an answer. Bearing testimony is so powerful. I have learned how important it is to bear testimony. When I don't know an answer or I don't know what to say or I just feel like hearing my testimony, the spirit comes in. I just hope and pray that the people can feel the spirit as well and choose to act on it. Funny story time! So we were trying to call a potential, C..., to set a rendezvous, but every time we called he said no and would hang up. We were so confused because we had just talked to him in person and he told us to call him. So we decide to wait and call him the next day and the same thing happens. We are so confused and sad and then we get this text from him saying, "I'm not C..., I'm so an so". Boy was that a relief! But I was so embarrassed, haha. We finally got the right number and sent a rendezvous! There is this little library book drop off thing in Grenoble, so we decided to get a Book of Mormon, write our testimony in it and then drop it off. It was fun and I hope it can bless someone's life like it has blessed mine! I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it is the word of God. I know that as people read it, they can receive an answer that it is true through the Holy Ghost. I love the Book of Mormon! It has changed my life and I know it can change the life's of the people here in France! Love you all! - Soeur Glazier Pain au chocolat. My favorite and Soeur Perry's first! Some of the trainers All of the new trainers This week was amazing! I got my Bleue! But before I get to that, I got to spend the week in Lyon. At the end of the day Monday we got to go out with the other trainers and do some Contacting which was cool. We got to talk with a lot of cool people, but sadly they are all for the missionaries in Lyon :'( That night half of the trainers stayed at the Lyon STL (sister training leaders) apartment. It was so fun being with so many sisters in the mission, especially since I never get to see them. I also got to meet a lot of them and they are so cool! Tuesday (July 4th) we spent the day contacting again and had a little training on how to be trainers which was good. We also ate McDonald's for dinner with some watermelon. I mean how much more American can you get in France? We ended up singing "The Star Spangled Banner" as well 🇺🇸 The next day was the day that we received our bleus. I was so nervous! We got there early and all the trainers were hiding in the Ecully Chapel having breakfast and a little more training. Then we all got taken up to meet all the bleus. We walked in and I kept thinking how weird this was! So we sit down and each one starts to read where they are going and who their trainer is. After each Sœur I thought "nope that's not mine." Then his one girl comes up and she starts to read her letter and I think, "I think it's her". Then she read Grenoble and I just let out this gasp and flew out of my chair. I ran right up to the front and gave her a big hug. It was so exciting! After that little meeting we got to have lunch and just talk. With Sœur Perry So, my companion is SŒUR PERRY! She is so cool and so nice. She is from Colorado, kind of by the four corners. She went to BYU-ID and she studied horticulture, which is about plants and gardens which is super cool. She is really loving France.
Thursday we stayed in Lyon and did some more contacting, but this time it was with my Bleue. It was kind of funny, there are Chinese elders in Lyon and they told us to find some Chinese amis for them. I put that in the back of my head, but then we were walking around and I see a Chinese guy. So I go up to him and start talking to him in French. He responds in English saying that he doesn't really speak French. I tell him it's OK because we speak English. Then I suddenly ask him if he speaks Chinese, so I could refer him to the Chinese elders. Turns out he is not from China and he doesn't speak Chinese. Boy was I embarrassed, but he still seemed interested so I think we're good. Later that night we traveled back to Grenoble and got dinner and crashed. Friday was our first real missionary day in Grenoble. We actually had a pretty cool experience. We were waiting for a tram, so I thought I would show Sœur Perry the map of Grenoble and help her figure out where things were. While doing that this guy comes up to us to ask us if we are lost. I then explained that I was just showing her the map because it was her first day in Grenoble. That lead into a conversation, which then lead into a gospel conversation. In the end we exchanged phone numbers and are hoping to have a lesson with him this week! So so cool! The Lord is really putting people in our path who are ready to hear the gospel. This week was crazy busy but I enjoyed it. And I am so excited to be doing it all with Sœur Perry. Love you all! -Sœur Glazier We got transfer calls this week, and I'm staying in Grenoble... And I'm training. Ahhhh!! It was so funny. President Brown calls us and he is talking to Sœur Vandroux, then he starts to talk to me in french. When he said I was receiving a bleue, my jaw just dropped to the floor and I couldn't say anything. I was so shocked, and then in English he asked, "did you understand?" then I replied, "yes... Yes President I understand. Oh wow!" I still can't believe it. I feel so young in the mission, but apparently that's how all the soeurs feel. So now I get to spend the week in Lyon! But with that, this week was packed! We had so many mange-vous (dinner appointments) this week, we felt so full! We left a members house and we could barely walk, we felt so sick. So we get pack to the apartment and are just doing our best to not throw up. We didn't even need to eat breakfast the next day because we were so full. This week we also had to plan the baptism for our Amis Pr.... We were so excited, but it was probably the most stressful baptism I have ever had! We were suppose to have a lesson with him an hour before, but he never showed up. So we were just calling and calling him, but he wasn't answering. The time for the baptism rolls around and everyone is there but Pr.... Eventually it's 7 and a member takes us in her car to go to his house. So we get there, run inside and bang on the door. No one answers. But we can hear the TV so we decided to call him again. We call and we hear his phone ringing inside his apartment!! We were so upset and embarrassed and all of the above. So we walk back to the members car, get in and we are just telling her how sorry we were. Then I look out the window and I see him. I see Presley riding his bike towards his house. I start to go a little crazy saying, "it's him! It's him!" so we stop the car and we start calling to him, "get in the car! You're late for your baptism!" overall he made it, but he was an hour late. Do you want to know why he was so late? An umbrella. He was late because he couldn't find one of the elders umbrellas that he borrowed. He couldn't come to his baptism until he found the umbrella. It was so crazy. I can't remember anything else from the week, but I do remember we were busy running from lesson to lesson. Now I will get to do all of that with a new bleue! I am so excited for this transfer and I can't wait to see the Miracles! Love you all! -Sœur Glazier With our recent convert.
