Spring is coming!! The flowers are starting to bloom and things are starting to pop! This week we had MLC so we got to fly to Lyon. It's always so much fun being back in Lyon, and getting to see other missionaries. At the conference we talked about how important it is for us to be helping our investigators come to church, especially to have them stay for all 3 hours. I love church so much! I am always looking forward to Sunday and to partake of the sacrament. It makes me feel so good, and I want our amis to feel that way too. We found an ami in our area book that hadn't been taught for a few years, so we called her up and she was willing to meet with us. In our lesson she was telling us that she has a friend who is a convert in Marseille, and her friend told her that us calling her was a sign. She said she doesn't know if it is, but she is willing to find out! Oh and church this Sunday was really good too! We got to go to primary with two of the Albanian kids, which was a lot of fun. And our amie C... came to church as well! It is so good to see people progress! We also had a family history activity and our other ami M... came with her husband. It was so good! I love the mission so much. All the little moments make me happy That's all for this week, see ya later alligator - Soeur Glazier MLC with the missionaries that came in on the same transfer. This week started as an "euh" kind of week, but it ended with an explosion of blessings! Throughout the week we were having a hard time getting a hold of our amis, and a lot of them stopped keeping their commitments. Things felt like they were falling about and we were trying to catch it all with sticks. Saturday there was a baptism for a little girl in the ward and the Albanian family that we are teaching came! It was their first time seeing a baptism, so they were asking lots of questions. In that moment I felt so happy and full of gratitude for my Heavenly Father. Then the four of us missionaries did a musical number and I felt so happy and grateful that I get to share the message of the gospel with people. A couple of hours later we had a ward talent show. Us missionaries were the opening act and did a skit about the life of a missionary in France. I love the ward here! Watching all of their talents and spending time together made me so happy and blessed to be here again. Even though it was hard throughout the week, I had a ward family that I could be with to lift my spirits. Then Sunday came around and a member brought a friend to church! Her name is C... and we are going to start teaching her! She was doing some research about the church and she knew a member and was asking him questions. He then invited her to come to church with him and she said she felt like it was a family. So over all, I have learned that you can have family where ever you are. I am excited to be home and be with my family again, but I have family here in France too. Wow, I love the gospel!! Hope you all have a great week, and get ready for conference! Hello! So we had transfers and I get to spend my 10th transfer with Soeur Yee On!! She is from Tahiti so I'm going to try to learn some Tahitian too, hehe. We actually are in the same transfer and we will go home together. It's been a fun first day together. Most of the week we were visiting a lot of people since Soeur Blackham wanted to say goodbye. It was a lot of fun, but everywhere we went they gave us so much food! I never went to bed hungry, haha. One member took us out to a fancy French restaurant and it was so good! It was the Frenchest place I have eaten, so I can check that off the bucket list. A few weeks ago I read a talk in the December Ensign that Soeur Blackham told me about called, "You Gotta Believe". It's about a college student at BYU who doesn't know what he is doing with his life and it is really hard for him. He was losing hope that Heavenly Father could help him. He felt like Heavenly Father could help anyone but him. One day he was walking in the rain and Jeffery R. Holland (the BYU President at the time) saw him and said he could give him a ride. While they were in the car, they were talking about it, and Jeffery R Holland said that his problem was that he didn't believe. It wasn't about his testimony, but that he didn't believe that he could have a miracle. It's such a good talk that you all should read it. It made me think about the mission and how sometimes (a lot of the time) I think the same thing. I believe every other missionary can have a miracle but me. But I need to believe! I need to believe that Heavenly Father will help my investigators overcome a trial, or that I can find his children who are ready, or that I can say what the Lord wants me to say, etc. I need to believe that Heavenly Father will be there through it all. Anyways, it is a such a good pick me up talk. So if you need a pick me up, I recommend you read it! Well, winter is coming to an end and things are starting to warm up in France! Have a wonderful week! - Soeur Glazier The Talence Crew The Last Sunday with Sr. Blackham District Meeting
Soeur Blackham and I were on cloud 9 this week! To describe it in a picture, Soeur Blackham and I are riding a wave with a cowboy hat. It was that exciting! To start the week off, it SNOWED! And I mean it stuck to the ground snow! We were so happy! But we ended up having a lesson in the snow since we couldn't get a member to teach with us. The lesson went OK. It was with a potential named N.... He just wanted to tell us the Book of Mormon had errors. It was so frustrating! We kept testifying that we knew it was true, but he kept telling us that it can't be true because of certain errors. We had another lesson with him in the week and we were planning on dropping him. The lesson started off the same as the last one. We were frustrated and he didn't want to listen to anything we said. After answering some of his questions we to read the introduction to the Book of Mormon with him. After, he understood better what the purpose of the Book of Mormon was, but he still wanted to tell us it was wrong. We then read some verses in Moroni 7 and the spirit of the lesson changed completely! He started to listen to us! And when we testified of the Book of Mormon and how we knew it was true, he didn't fight back. At the end of the lesson he seemed completely different and it was evident that he felt the Spirit and that he knew he needed to find out for himself if it was true. The Book of Mormon is so powerful! There is no doubt in my mind that it is the word of God. Other miracle! We were at the church and two ladies walked in asking if we could help them with genealogy. We ended up helping them with some members and one became a new ami!
And for p day today we went to Arcachon which is on the beach. It was so cool to see the ocean! We also went to La Dune du Pilat which is the largest sand dunes in Europe. They were so much fun, so enjoy the pictures :) I love the mission so much!! Hope you all have a great week! - Soeur Glazier |
