We got transfer calls this week and I am staying in Val de Saône with Soeur Driggs! I am so happy! I would be lying if I didn't say we both cried for joy! At least I cried for joy, and I like to think she did too, hehe! Here in Val de Saône we have a car, but it is not just any car. It is called the Beast, at least that is what most of the missionaries here call it. It's always having problems and we are always going to the office to figure things out. Every time we see one of the sisters in the office, she asks us how the Beast is, so we took a picture with the Beast and some baguettes for her. This week was a crazy week! So many of our rendez vous fell through. Each day we tried to make up for it. We knew that we needed to keep going and we believed that it all had a purpose to it. At the end of the week we had had it. And we kind of broke. After trying to put ourselves back together, we decided to go to McDonald's and get an ice cream and just relieve all the stress that we had. Right after our much needed mini break we went out for the rest of the day to find the person who God had prepared for us. We went knocking on doors/ringing door bells and talking to whoever passed us. No one was interested, but we had some amazing conversations with people, so hopefully the next time they see missionaries they will want to talk to them and they will be more prepared! And I must admit, that ice cream really helped. Even though we have days like this I am reminded of a quote that hangs in our bathroom: "Whether or not the invitation is accepted as you invite others to “come and see,” you will feel the approval of the Lord and, with that approval, an added measure of faith to share your beliefs again and again." - Elder Andersen It is so true! Even though not everyone is interested, I still have the desire to snare what I know with others! When I go out talk with others I feel the Lord's approval and thst is all that I need. If I didn't know it was true I wouldn't be out here experiencing all of this. I can't do it without my Savior. I love you all and I hope you all have a great week! - Soeur Glazier With a recent convert in an Ecully bakery Sleepover with a "Tim Tam Slam" From the internet: the best way to eat a Tim Tam cookie is to bite off opposite corners of the biscuit, use it as a straw to slurp up a hot beverage like hot chocolate, and then pop the whole warm, melty treat into their mouth in one go. That, in essence, is the Tim Tam Slam. The flan challenge a few weeks ago at zone conference.

Hello, another great week as usual. Great lessons, great meetings, great people, great place, great, great, great. This week were finally got to see one of our investigators that I had not met yet. Her name is S... and she is so nice! She hadn't been answering our calls and texts so we went over one evening and she was there! She didn't have a lot of time, so we shared the Paris temple video with her and talked about temples for a little bit. She told us that the temple is nice, but she doesn't really feel like it applies to her because she doesn't know if we will be able to live again with our families. So we started to talk with her about praying and how we can find our answers through prayer. She then asked us how she would know if the Holy Ghost was talking to her. So we shared scriptures with her about the fruits of the spirit. It was so good and the spirit was there! She is amazing and she has such wonderful questions. I am so excited to visit with her again! We decided to reach out to some potentials in our area book this week and we were able to set a rendez-vous with this one guy named M.... We met with him and something really sad happened, we found out he doesn't live in our sector! He is in another area in Lyon. But we still had this great lesson with him and he had so many questions and really wanted to know more. So we have a rendez-vous set with the sisters in the Lyon area and him so we can hand him over. At the ended of our lesson with M... this guy came up to us and started talking. He was kind of drunk and was talking to M... mostly and telling him that he doesn't like religion and some other stuff that I decided not to listen to. Then M... told him that if he had any questions he should ask us. In my head I was thinking, "oh no, please don't ask us, I want to be able to go home". He looked at as and decided to shake our hands. So I stick my hand out and he ends up putting it to his forehead. He does it do Soeur Driggs, but instead of putting her hand to his forehead he kissed it! I was screaming in my head and I was ready to run away with her because this guy was crazy! Luckily he left soon after and we were able to finish with a prayer. Satan was trying to stop us, but we got through it. Afterwards Soeur Driggs and I were covering our hands in hand sanitizer. We also had district meeting this week and we talked a lot about finding people. We have set a goal to have 1620 new amis by the end of November! I know that we will be able to reach this goal as we plan well and have faith and we go out and do our best and follow the spirit. I know this is the Lord's work and I know that we will be able to find God's children who are ready to hear the truth! We had some other awesome lessons this week and we were able to talk to some nice people at their doors! Love you all!! - Soeur Glazier President's P-Day Saturday Sports She says I am going to get married in two years and have 5 kids. Some sort of squash rice
What a wonderful busy week! But one of the highlights this week was zone conference. Zone conference always gives me that boost that I need for the rest of the transfer. This conference was a multi-zone conference so I got to see a lot of old companions which was fantastique! For zone conference we talked a lot about setting goals and planning. It is so important for us to set goals and make plans that will help our investigator progress. It was so good and helped me so much. Soeur Hughes after so many months! Some of the group I came in with. Soeur Calderwood! Conference! This week we were ringing door bells again and we came to this one house and this lady let us come in. She told us she wasn't believing but we still tried to share our message with her. She kept telling us that she didn't believe but she said she would love to have us come back so we will see how it all goes. We had another lesson with the D... family. The mom is a less active and the rest of her family are not members. The dad is not interested but they want their kids to learn. So we have been teaching 3 of their kids. We had a great lesson with them about Jesus Christ and the spirit was so strong! They are doing well, but they have a hard time coming to church. Hopefully they will be able to come next week! Just so you know, there is a special thing here in Val de Saône. It's the water tower. Where ever we go we can see it and we always know where we are with it. It is like our lighthouse. Haha, so we had to take pictures with it. Hope you all have a great week! Je vous aims! - Soeur Glazier Soeur Driggs posing with the water tower. Water tower. Traffic! What a crazy week it has been once again! We had some ups and downs but overall it was great! Soeur Driggs and I set a goal to find some new amis, so we set some time to go knocking on doors. We looked at our map and picked a place. We drove there and started to knock on doors....well ring the door bells of the gates. Everyone was saying no, but we kept going. Eventually we got to this one house and again they said no. But it was an older couple and they saw that we were dying of heat so they invited us to come in and get a drink. So we went in and started to talk with the wife. She said she didn't want to talk about religion and that they didn't believe so we talked about other stuff. Soon we got on the topic of families and ancestors. So we told her about Family Search and she got excited about it. She told us that she believes that doing genealogy is really important. We were thinking, YES! So we gave her a pamphlet on families and temples which gives some space to fill in a family tree. She than asked us where our ancestors were from. I told her that I had some from Bern Switzerland and she got so excited and she brought her husband into the room. Apparently he is from Bern, so I showed them my family tree and the family that is from Bern. He said the names looked familiar. So they ended up inviting us to come back over to go over family history and help them start an account for Family Search! It was so cool! Another crazy thing happened! We went to our car to go to an appointment that morning and we found a note. Just so you know, French handwriting is so hard to read! It is not the same as American handwriting. It honestly looked like a doctor wrote it. So we decided we would show the less active we were going to see and have her read it to us. So we did and apparently it said that something happened to our door. So we all go out to our car and we see this dent in our door. Apparently when he was backing out he hit our car, and somehow we didn't even see it! I don't know how long it would have taken us to actually realize there was a dent in our car. Anyways, we set a time to visit with him and to fill out the paper work. We go and he was so nice and he helped us fill everything out. Most of the time we were talking with his wife. She asked us a lot of questions about the church which was really cool. I don't think him hitting our car was a coincidence. On Saturday we had sports with the Val de Saône and Ecully Wards. We invited members and amis and we played soccer. It was so much fun! We met a lot of cool people and even invited people already there to play with us. We than visited a family that we are teaching. It has been so cool to teach a family. When we teach them I can't help but think how cool it would be to see them sealed together in the temple. With all the crazy stuff, one of our amis dropped us this week. It was the first time that has happened to me and it was so much harder than I thought it was going to be. I have dropped people but no one has actually said I don't want you to come anymore. I was only able to meet with her once, but I felt so down about it. Everyone has there agency and I have had to accept that. We do the very best we can and that is all we can do. But I hope she will want to learn more in the future! Love you all! - Soeur Glazier F R A N C E ! ! ! She is reading my energy. She said I have good energy. :)
