What a week it had been! It has been busy but full of blessings! On Tuesday we went to the church to download some videos to share with some less actives. After downloading we go to the door to pray and we see this guy standing in front of the Church just looking at it. So we quickly pray and we run out to talk to him. We go up to him and ask if we can help him with anything and he responds, "yeah, can you tell me more about this church?" Yes, yes we can! :) So we gave him a quick run through the restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon and we will hopefully be meeting with him sometime this week. I also went to Ecully for exchange with Sœur Margin. It was a lot of fun, but it was so hot. We were just so hot. We would go to people's door and they wouldn't talk to us, but they would give us water :) Exchange with Sœur Margin. We mostly spoke in French since she is from Tahiti. Then on Friday we were going to the church to get ready for a lesson, but on the way to the church we saw some people moving. We stopped and we both thought we should go back and help them. But as we turn this guy comes up to us and asked if we could tell him about our church. So once again we talked a little bit about the restoration, exchanged numbers, and invited him to church. But he said he wouldn't be able to come since he works Sunday mornings. We were pretty sad, but we thought that with faith he would be able to come to church. Later that day he texted us to make sure we didn't forget about him and to ask when we could have a lesson with him.
Next thing I know, Sunday roles around. We are there welcoming people and what do you know, the guy we met in front of the Church that said he couldn't come to church on Sundays came to church! We were so surprised. He said he really wanted to come so he did what he could to come. So we gave him a tour of the Church and then he stayed for Sacrament meeting. So cool! We are also going to be having a baptism for our Amis Pr... this week. We are so excited! This is the last week of the transfer, let's do this! Love you all! -Sœur Glazier

Vizelle Southern France is HOT! I go out of the apartment and I feel dead, and it's only June! I'll just say I'm really nervous for July and August. We were talking about it with some members and they said that this is the hottest it has ever been in June. I hope that doesn't mean the whole summer will be like this or hotter. But it is also really windy here in Grenoble, so that is a little tender mercy. (FYI, there is no A/C in France, so when it's hot, it is REALLY HOT)
This week we decided to change things up and go to Valence for district meeting. Valence is beautiful, and I'm disappointed that I didn't take any pictures. For district meeting we talked a lot about working with members and how we can help them and strengthen them. Something I have learned is that working with members is hard, but it is worth it. I have seen Miracles because of it. It's always the hard things that end up being the most rewarding. For a fun fact, missionaries here love to play werewolf. I think I have played it at every district meeting! This week we also got to go to the bishops for dinner with a sister who served here 20 years ago. So we got to pick raspberries with her and talk about her mission. It was so fun, and the raspberries were delicious! On Friday we had a movie night with our Amis and members. We got to watch 17 Miracles. I hadn't seen that movie in so long, so it was fun to be able to watch it again. But overall this week did not seem to be in our favor. Our rendez-vous seemed to always be falling through. Hopefully this week will be better with rendez-vous! Love you all and I hope you all have a great week! -Sœur Glazier This week started off great with Zone Conference! I always look forward to Zone Conference because I always learn so much from the spirit. The spirit is always so strong in these meetings. We talked a lot about baptism and how important it is for us to invite our Amis to be baptized in the first or second lesson. We also talked a lot about finding Amis with the help of members. We also heard a lot of testimonies from all the missionaries who are leaving soon. It was so good to hear all of their testimonies. They helped me more than I realized. Missions are hard, but they are worth it and they change so many lives. When we go through these hard times we come closer to the Lord. I have been learning this a lot. Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing on a mission. But when I turn to the Lord for His guidance I have received the strength that I need. I have been coming to know my savior more than I ever have. I have only been on the mission for a few months so I still have so much growing to do. But I know that with the Saviors help I can accomplish all things. Throughout the week people have been coming to us to talk. They have been more open to talk about religion and about Jesus Christ. We will go on a tram and someone will start talking to us and we can easily start talking about the church. The Lord is really preparing these people to hear the gospel. We believe it is all from the temple! It's not just happening in Grenoble, it's all over the mission! Miracles are coming. Just like the dedicatory prayer that Elder Eyring gave when he dedicated the temple. Even after the temple has been dedicated we have been receiving so many blessings. A little update on our Amis P.... He is doing really well, but he didn't come to church last Sunday so we will have to move his baptism back. :( But he is really progressing and we are continuing to work with him to help him prepare for his baptism. The elders also invited their Amis to be baptized! It's miracles after miracles. I know this is the lords work and I am so grateful that I am able to be an instrument in His hands. I am so grateful for the Paris temple. I know it is the house of the Lord. I love you all so much and I hope you all have a great week! -Sœur Glazier When it's super hot and you don't have AC.
I got to start this week off in Lyon! My companion, Sœur Vandroux, was invited to MLC (missionary leadership council) so I got to go and spend the day in Lyon. It was like a mini exchange with some of the soeurs serving in Lyon. It was probably one of the craziest days I have had on the mission. We pretty much spent the day hopping from metro to metro. But I was able to have a really good patisserie so it made up for the crazy day .
Once we got back to Grenoble we had a lesson with our new ami Pr.... We decided to talk about the plan of salvation. So we are going through it and we mention baptism and he just starts to say that he needs to be baptized. We were a little baffled, and just, "OK, then will you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized on June 17?" and without hesitation he said YES!! We are so excited for him. He is like a miracle that fell from the sky! We also had district meeting this week which was super good. We talked a lot about baptism and how important it is for us to invite our ami's to baptism. We also focused on chapter 9 of Preach my Gospel about finding people to teach. Right now we need to find new amis. I have been so blessed on my mission to have so many people ready to be taught and be baptized, but the teaching pool is starting to shrink because they are getting baptized. So District meeting was a good pick me up for me on what I can do to help find those who are ready to hear the gospel. It can be discouraging sometimes and it feels like no one wants to listen to us. But I am reminded of Ammon (or Alma) saying that they are out serving a mission to find the few that are ready to hear the gospel. That has been helping me a lot this transfer. Yes not everyone wants to listen to us, but there are a few. And those few need to hear gospel of Jesus Christ. Those few are going to bring us some of the happiest experiences on the mission. I feel like the Lord is really testing me this week though. So many of our recent converts have not been answering us, and it has been so hard for me. I am constantly worried about them, but I have to remember that they have their agency. And sometimes they will go through hard times that I can not help them with. Those are the times when I really pray and hope that they will continue to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and that they are able to remember everything that they have learned and felt with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Speaking of recent converts, our recent convert Pa... had her baby! He is so tiny and cute! It was so hard to tell her that we couldn't hold him. Ugh he was just so cute! Anyways, everything is good here in France. I have been learning a lot and I have been growing a lot. I'm am so grateful for my Savior and all He has done for me. He has been blessing me so much and I don't know how I can thank Him for everything. My relationship with my Savior has been growing as I turn to Him in the good times, the sad times, and the hard times. I know the church is true! -Sœur Glazier |
