Hello hello!! Great weeks mean great smiles, hehe! To start our week off we went to see our ami S... and it was soooooo good!! We followed up with her about her prayers and she said she didn't really know if she had received an answer. So we shared a video with her about different ways the spirit can speak to us by Elder Bednar. She liked it and then she asked us how we have received answers to our prayers. I shared with her how I learned that the Book of Mormon was the word of God, and how the Holy Ghost testified to me that it was true. As the lesson went on we gave her a soft baptismal invitation!! She told us that she would be baptized if she knew it was true, but she is nervous. She doesn't want to ask or really read the Book of Mormon yet because she knows that when she gets her answer she will have so much to change and she isn't ready for it. So we are going to be trying to help her feel like she is ready. I also finally got to meet our ami P...! I have been here for 2 months and I had not met him yet! But we finally did and we also talked about receiving answers to prayers. We had a great lesson, but for some reason he doesn't want to meet with us again until November :/ but we will still try to keep contact with him!! We also went contacting, trying to find those who Heavenly Father has prepared! A lot of the times when we go contacting the people want to try to speak English with us. We try to not speak in English, so what happens is they are talking to us in English and we are talking to them in French. A question they often ask is, "what do you think of lion?" And it always throws us off cause we are like, "lion? What are they talking about?" And then we realize they mean Lyon but they are saying lion because they probably know we say it wrong. How kind of them, hehe. This week I have been studying the Christ like attribute hope. While I was studying I came across a passage from true to the faith, and it says, "The word hope is sometimes misunderstood. In our everyday language, the word often has a hint of uncertainty. For example, we may say that we hope for a change in the weather or a visit from a friend. In the language of the gospel, however, the word hope is sure, unwavering, and active." I love that! When we have hope in our Savoir we know what He has done for us and what we can accomplish because of Him. There are so many things in the world that can lead us to doubt and to discouragement. But when we have hope we can not be discouraged. I am now starting realize why the scriptures say that when you have faith you have hope and charity. You can't have one and not the other. True to the faith goes on to say, "Happy is he,” said the Psalmist, “that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God” (Psalm 146:5). With hope, you can find joy in life. You can “have patience, and bear with … afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions” (Alma 34:41)" So continue on with hope because He is there! Love you all!! - Soeur Glazier We went to zoo/park today. There is a lion in the back.
