This week was a bit of a slow week. None of our amis were able to meet with us, even through video chat. And we even had to drop a couple which was a little sad. Since not much happened, we got to do a lot of contacting, which has been a lot of fun with the Light the World campaign. We went to a part of Lyon in our area called the Croix-Rousse. We were able to talk to a lot of people, but none of them wanted to talk to us. Another day we went knocking on doors. This guy came out of his house and we told him we were missionaries and he said he wasn't interested. So I decided to ask him if we could show the Light the World video with him. He said we could and as we were trying to pull it up he asked us where we are from. I told him I was from Utah, and then the thought came to my head to ask him if he knew where it was. He said he did because his parents live in Salt Lake City! I was so surprised and told him that was really cool. He went on saying, "yeah my parents are religious, they are Mormon." We were a little baffled and responded, "we are too! We are Mormon missionaries!" Haha, he was a little surprised. Apparently his dad is a bishop in one of the wards in Salt Lake. So we shared the video with him and he thought it was nice, but he still wasn't interested. But it was so cool! Even though he wasn't interested, I don't think it was a coincidence that we talked to him. One day we decided to try to call some people in our area book who haven't met with missionaries for a while. We called this one girl named A... who I have tried to call a lot. We decided we would try one more time and then drop her, but she answered! She was so happy we called her. Apparently something happened with her phone and she moved and stuff, but she still wants to meet with us! We have a lesson with her and we are so excited! This week has been so much fun with all the service opportunities that we have had to help light the world. I invite you all to find ways that you can light the world with the Light of Christ. So many people need to feel His love. Love you all and have another fun Christmassy week! - Soeur Glazier Oh and it snowed the first day of December! It didn't stick but it did snow! I loved it! hehe Chinese Buffet

Missionaries I came in with. What a week! So much happened that I really felt Heavenly Father was watching over us. This week we had a lesson with our ami V... over Skype. When Soeur Tway and I were planning for her lesson we both felt very strongly that we needed to invite her to be baptized. So we were teaching her the gospel of Jesus Christ, and near the end the Spirit totally took over. I can't remember everything I said, but I knew they were not my words. I told her that we loved her so much, that we wanted her to be able to fully repent and be cleaned from everything, and to be able to have the spirit with her at all times, and to do what she needed to be baptized. I can't remember, but something like that. When I started to say "allez-vous" (will you), I felt the Spirit so strongly that I was set apart for this reason. I felt the magnitude of my calling and how we are the only people who can invite others to come unto Christ through baptism. It was an amazing feeling, and such a testimony builder to me. Anyways, she said yes and we are going to help her work towards being baptized on December 30th! This week we also had zone conference and Elder Johnson from the area seventy came. It was so much fun. They talked to us about how we need to be good coaches for our amis. They don't know everything, so we need to be their guide. We also talked about Ether 6 and how we sometimes have these furious winds in our life. They are hard, but they come from God. Sometimes we pray that the winds will stop, but we need them if we want to progress. We can be like the Jaredites and pray for His help in our trials and not to take them away. Since Thanksgiving was this week we went to the Smurthwaites (American family in the ward), AND it was like I was home. We had turkey, potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin cheese cake, rolls from the Lion House, and more! It was so good, and they invited friends who are not members! It was so cool. This week I felt so blessed, and felt like I was receiving so many answers to prayers. I have so much to be thankful for!! I hope you all have a wonderful week as you get ready for Christmas! And don't forget to Light the World with the Light of Christ! - Soeur Glazier Matching necklaces! Half of us at zone conference.
![]() Hello hello! Another week has come and gone with lots of learning, growing, and other random things. Something that was really cool this week was that we had our first lesson over video chat! It was awesome! We had it with our ami V.... who was a self referral. We taught the restoration with her and she loved it! We gave her the pamphlet before the lesson and she studied it all. It was so cool to be able to use technology to help her progress. We are planning on having another video chat lesson with her this week! This week we made cookies and heart attacked some members. One family we went to weren't home so we put hearts around their door. We then saw that they had a beautiful view so we had to take pictures. We took some and then turned around and they were pulling into their drive way. We tried to hide the best we could, but then I had to back out! But it was fun and they appreciated it. After we went to go knock on some doors in their area. We were waiting at this one door and we saw a police car. I leaned over to Soeur Tway and said, "I bet they're looking for us" but I was totally joking. They passed us, and then they made a U turn and were driving back towards us. Then the car slowly pulled up to us. In this moment I thought, "oh no, we are getting arrested!" So they rolled their window down and started to ask us what we were doing and why we were ringing door bells. Apparently they thought we were asking for stuff. We told them we were actually giving a book away to people who were interested. We then explained to them that we were missionaries and that we were inviting people to come unto Christ. They were satisfied with our answer so they went on their way. Well, this week is Thanksgiving and they don't celebrate it here (but luckily there is an American family, here hehe), but I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving! And as you can probably assume, I am so thankful for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and for my Savior Jesus Christ! He has done so much for us. I love to see people change and come unto Christ. It is one of the happiest things to see. I am so thankful for my family! I wouldn't be here without them. And I am so thankful for the experience that I get to have to be a missionary here in France. I am grateful for so much. There is my thankful rant. I love you all! - Soeur Glazier Cool story! This is the girl that was in the Belgium airport when it was bombed. She was the sister missionary and she just got married and is in our ward.
First week of the transfer wahoo!! This week we have been doing a lot, and a lot of finding. One day we were ringing door bells It was really really cold and it was raining a bit. When we were almost done we decided to talk to this guy who was cleaning up his yard. We walked over and said hi and he looked up and started to laugh a little and waved his hands to say no. So we said, "ok, but do you know anyone who would be interested in our message?". Then he laughed a little bit more and he leaned forward and started to move his arms in the air as if he was swimming. We just looked at him very confused. I know my French is not perfect but I am pretty sure I didn't ask how to swim. We also met with our ami P... and a member was able to come with us. He had so many questions and the member had such a fun time helping answer and it was awesome! The members here are absolutely amazing and they love missionary work. On Sunday I was having a hard time with everything. Everything that we needed to do was running through my head and I was getting stressed. I wasn't sure how I was suppose to do everything I needed to do. Then in Relief Society they were talking about the importance of missionary work. As I listened to the lesson, I felt like a burden was being lifted off of my shoulders. All I can do is my best, and I'm not the only one. I have a companion, and the members here who want to help too. I know that as we go to church we can receive personal revelation for our lives. Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us and He is there! I know that is true and I have been seeing it so much on my mission. Not much else has happened, but we keep going and trying to find those who are ready to come unto Christ. Love you all! - Soeur Glazier ![]() This week was absolutely crazy!! And I think I had the best Halloween EVER!! We went to the STL's apartment for the night and they ordered sushi. So they ate it as I sat there, haha. While eating, Soeur Driggs started to cough a lot. We kind of laughed at her, and then she couldn't breath. She started to have an allergic reaction!! So we had to run to the emergency room. And guess who had to drive. ME!! But we got there safely and then I dropped Soeur Driggs and Soeur Cusick off so I could park. And guess who had to parallel park for the first time since drivers ed? ME!! And guess who did it perfect the first time? ME! It was a blessing. So then I went in the waiting room with Soeur Schneider. We came in and the guy at the desk was so chill. He was in his sweats with his headphones in. When I saw that I thought, "my companion is dying!!" Well, that's hospitals in France. Everything was OK, but they never told Soeur Driggs what she was allergic to. All they said was that her throat was red. She ended up being OK, which is good. We think it was crab, so we hope it doesn't happen again! We also received a referral this week! She is amazing! Her name is V... and a member gave her a Book of Mormon and she had already started to read it before she met with us. We are so excited to teach her! And we got transfers this week and I am staying in Val de Saône and I'm going to finish training Soeur Tway. I haven't met her yet, but I am so excited!! I am so happy to still be here and I am so excited to keep working hard in this wonderful ville! Love you all, Soeur Glazier Castle and restaurant by our apartment. Meeting her new companion Soeur Tway later in the day.
Hello! France is great, but we are all sad that they don't celebrate Halloween here. Whenever we see a pumpkin or something we get so excited! Going a long with the spooky week, we had dinner with a member! It was so crazy trying to find where they live! The elders were going too and we were were trying to lead each other the best we could. It was all in the dark so we were really trying our best. As we were trying to find it we decided to start following our GPS. We were driving and then it told us to turn onto this small road with huge trees hanging over it. We drove through, but little did we know it was actually someone's private property! Once we got to the house we wanted to run away! The house looked kind of scary like it was from some sort of horror movie! I refused to get out because I was afraid of the consequences. So the elders got out of their car and ran after us, so they could help back us out. We finally made it to the members home and had some yummy crepes! This week we also had a lesson with S...! And this time her whole family was there! We talked about our Savior Jesus Christ and how he has done so much for us. During the lesson we asked her if she felt closer to God and Jesus Christ as she has been praying. She said she had and that she had received an answer to her prayers! She said she knew she needed to keep meeting with us! We were so happy and we are so excited to continue to help her progress. This week we also had stake conference and zone conference. It was all woohoo good! In stake conference we had one of the seventy come (can't remember his name, but he is from italy) and he talked about having faith even when it is hard. We always need to keep our faith! When we have faith in Jesus Christ, we trust and believe that everything will work out. We can know that because of what He has done for us. He has felt everything! And because of Him, no matter how hard our circumstances are, as we act in faith, we can return to live with Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ again. I know that is true. The scriptures testify it. I love the gospel!! - Soeur Glazier Stake Conference with half of my MTC district. Zone Conference Family in the ward from the UK Mickey Mouse crepe President's P-day P. S here is a little note from Soeur Driggs
Hello everyonnne! This is Soeur Driggs (hehehe Grace) and I live with your dear friend/relative/neighbor Soeur Glazier (hehehe Maddy). SOOOOOO since tomorrow is Halloween we wanted to do something spooooky and swap emails. So hellooo! I would first and foremost like to say that Soeur Glazier is the most incredible being on the planet. The Beez Kneez as you kids say. We've basically been married for 3 months. Wow. it's been an absolute dream. We are still in the "honeymoon phase". Sometimes we watch movies for date night, or we sing in the car (Soeur Glazier is a very talented singer), or we wear facemasks. And we have matchy Hogwarts sweaters. I know you all WISH you had what she and I have, but i'm sorrry, i dont think it's possible! Seriously seriously though, she's amazing. K? We talk about basically everything. Anyways, it's been nice to chat with you all for a second! I LOVE MADDY!!!!!!!! -Soeur Driggs One of the craziest things happened this week! I hit 9 months! I have no idea how it happened, but it did. So I had my hump day for the mission. And my 9 months landed on a Wednesday, so that makes it my hump hump day! And then at 12 it was my hump, hump, hump day! So much fun! We celebrated by having pizza and Tim Tams for dinner. So it is all down hill from here! Besides that, we did not have our car this week because we were finally getting our door fixed. So this week was crazy! We don't usually use buses and metros, so we had to try to figure it all out and we got lost a few times. But we got to talk to a lot of people which was good. We had great conversations and got to give out a lot of our cards. We had a lot of little miracles, so a week without a car was no problem. But we were not able to visit any if our amis because of it, which was sad. One of the highlights of the week was Sunday. A less active member came to church for the first time in forever! And she even came with her daughter who is not a member. We were waiting for sacrament to start, and I looked to the door and I saw her! I leaned over to Soeur Driggs and told her they were here and we were both speechless! We got to sit with them, and after one of the primary girls came to go with her daughter, J..., to primary. We were so happy we wanted to jump around! There is so much joy when people make decisions that help them come closer to their Savior. I have felt so much joy sharing the gospel. It's a joy that I can't even express. You don't know how it feels until you share it. Love you all! - Soeur Glazier Vieux Lyon First crepes in France by French people! These carrots are everywhere. Matching! Don't worry, they weren't home.
Hello hello!! Great weeks mean great smiles, hehe! To start our week off we went to see our ami S... and it was soooooo good!! We followed up with her about her prayers and she said she didn't really know if she had received an answer. So we shared a video with her about different ways the spirit can speak to us by Elder Bednar. She liked it and then she asked us how we have received answers to our prayers. I shared with her how I learned that the Book of Mormon was the word of God, and how the Holy Ghost testified to me that it was true. As the lesson went on we gave her a soft baptismal invitation!! She told us that she would be baptized if she knew it was true, but she is nervous. She doesn't want to ask or really read the Book of Mormon yet because she knows that when she gets her answer she will have so much to change and she isn't ready for it. So we are going to be trying to help her feel like she is ready. I also finally got to meet our ami P...! I have been here for 2 months and I had not met him yet! But we finally did and we also talked about receiving answers to prayers. We had a great lesson, but for some reason he doesn't want to meet with us again until November :/ but we will still try to keep contact with him!! We also went contacting, trying to find those who Heavenly Father has prepared! A lot of the times when we go contacting the people want to try to speak English with us. We try to not speak in English, so what happens is they are talking to us in English and we are talking to them in French. A question they often ask is, "what do you think of lion?" And it always throws us off cause we are like, "lion? What are they talking about?" And then we realize they mean Lyon but they are saying lion because they probably know we say it wrong. How kind of them, hehe. This week I have been studying the Christ like attribute hope. While I was studying I came across a passage from true to the faith, and it says, "The word hope is sometimes misunderstood. In our everyday language, the word often has a hint of uncertainty. For example, we may say that we hope for a change in the weather or a visit from a friend. In the language of the gospel, however, the word hope is sure, unwavering, and active." I love that! When we have hope in our Savoir we know what He has done for us and what we can accomplish because of Him. There are so many things in the world that can lead us to doubt and to discouragement. But when we have hope we can not be discouraged. I am now starting realize why the scriptures say that when you have faith you have hope and charity. You can't have one and not the other. True to the faith goes on to say, "Happy is he,” said the Psalmist, “that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God” (Psalm 146:5). With hope, you can find joy in life. You can “have patience, and bear with … afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions” (Alma 34:41)" So continue on with hope because He is there! Love you all!! - Soeur Glazier We went to zoo/park today. There is a lion in the back.
Wonderful days are coming our way! The weather has been beautiful and the leaves are slowly but surely changing colors. We get to spend our time contacting with our comfy coats! As a zone we pray for a companionship each day so that they can achieve their goals. One of those days everyone prayed for Soeur Driggs and I! That day we set goals that we would be able to have control in our lesson with the D... family and that we would be able to find a new ami. So we made plans to accomplish our goals. We prayed for Heavenly Fathers help, and everyone else in our zone prayed for us too. When it came time for our lesson we were a little nervous, but it ended up being the best lesson we had ever had with them! The Spirit was so strong and their daughter finally said she would say a closing prayer! After that we went out looking for people. As we were out we found a girl and she became our new ami! It was such a good day! I know that prayer works and that Heavenly Father will help us as we try to work diligently and do our very best. We had a fun week with district meeting! We have been talking a lot about finding those who are ready to hear the gospel. We talked about what we can do to find them. Something that came to my mind while we were talking about this was a talk given by Elder Rasband in General Conference. He talked about how there are no coincidences. Knowing that there are no coincidences has helped me so much when it comes to talking to people. There is no coincidence when we go to a certain neighborhood, there is no coincidence who we sit by on the bus, there is no coincidence who we walk by on the street, there are NO coincidences. With that in mind, why don't I try to talk to everyone? Heavenly Father is putting certain people in our path all the time. There is no coincidence when we cross paths with someone. Even not on missions, there are certain people that come into our lives for a reason. Then today we spent our time in Lyon going to museums and eating French food, so we were feeling pretty French 🇫🇷 Love you all and have a great week!! - Soeur Glazier Dinner with a member. Museum America!
To start our week off we had a lesson with our ami S.... We went over the plan of salvation with her and she really liked it. She said it made sense to her and that it is built off of what she already believed. The things that she didn't understand were the three kingdom's of glory. She wasn't sure if it was true or not. So we invited her to pray about it and to find out for herself if it was true, but she still had the concern of how she would receive her answer. So we went over that with her. Hopefully when we see her next she will have had a wonderful experience with prayer.
This week was also filled with lots of contacting and passing by less actives. We had a lot of great conversations with people and I hope that they will one day be ready to hear the gospel. Something that I really liked about conference was when Elder Rasband talked about how there are no coincidences. I know that it is not a coincidence that we talked to the people that we talked to. There was a reason we did and I might never know why. But I know that God is placing us in the lives of others to help them and bless them and they are placed in our path to help us too! I love General Conference and I am so thankful for all the wonderful messages that were shared. I found answers to questions that I had, and I felt the Spirit testify to me that all those men are called of God. I know that we having a living prophet today. I can't wait to be able to study all the talks again and again and again! Love you all. Have a great week and I hope you all enjoyed conference as much as I did! - Soeur Glazier |
