I'm legal!! We got to spend a day in Brive to make me legal, which was a lot of fun. But it was a day full of trains which was exhausting, but we got to see the beautiful country side of France. Wow do I love France Brive ![]() Before we went to Brive, we had exchanges with the Brive Soeurs. I got to spend the day with my old comp, Soeur Tway. It was like old times, but in Bordeaux, and without a car. They came in the day of Valentine's day so we made a special dinner and decorated the table with hearts! We also got to do a lot of family history that day which was a lot of fun! Exchange with Soeur Tway Valentines dinner with the Brive Soeurs On Saturday we had a lesson with our amie S... who has a baptismal date for the 3rd of March. We talked about the plan of salvation and focused a lot on the atonement of Jesus Christ. While we were discussing it, she stopped us and said, "I finally understand the atonement! It is something personal that He did for me." It was so cool and it made us so happy! We didn't even know she didn't understand it, but the spirit was able to lead and guide us to say the things that she needed to hear, and the spirit was there to help teach her. It made us so happy! Later that day we ran into our amie J.... She was sitting in front of her house with her friend, and she was so happy to see us! She told her friend that we were her friends, and that made us really happy. We asked her how her day was, and she said it was really hard. Luckily we had some Valentine's day cookies that we didn't give to someone, so we gave them to her. She couldn't believe we had some and was so excited. As we continued to talk she told us that she thinks she needs to read the Book of Mormon because she thinks it will help her!!! YES!!! We didn't even tell her she needed to read it, she discovered it on her own! We are so excited for her, she has so much potential! At the end of the day I felt so happy because I really felt like I did everything Heavenly Father wanted me to do. I know He put us in J...'s path for a reason and I know that the Holy Ghost led us in S...'s lesson so we could help her. It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that you were an instrument in His hands. I love France!! And I feel so blessed to be here doing the Lord's work Love you all and have a great week! - Soeur Glazier You can't see it, but it started snowing. One of our ami's kids made me a choker. A member's birthday. Cereal at the Cereal House in Lyon while at MLC, so good! Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops, and Golden Grahms with 100 grand on top The Sister Training Leaders at MLC.

We got to start the week off with MLC!! And we got smartphones! It's so crazy! Anyways, in MLC we talked a lot about family history. We want to try and help the members (especially recent converts) to find a name that they can take to the temple. If we want to help them, we have to be doing it too! So every Sunday we have an hour to do family history and I have felt so much closer to my family! There is so much joy in doing family history. So on Valentine's day our mission has a goal to help every recent convert find a name that they can take to the temple. So I want to invite you all to do the same! Find a name and go to the temple to do those ordinances! And once you do that, go teach someone else so they can experience the same blessings. One of the highlights of the week was our lesson with our amie J...! We met her on the street and she wasn't believing, but we kept talking to her and she ended up saying we could meet with her. Before she came Soeur Blackham and I were so nervous! But once she walked into the church the spirit was there. She asked so many good questions and she really had the desire to understand. The spirit completely took over and I don't really remember what we said. But I won't forget the feeling of the spirit that was there. In the end she said she would read the Book of Mormon, and that she would try to get her husband to come the next time with their son. She is so cool!! This week was so good!! I have felt so at peace this week, and I have felt so happy! Oh and I must say, there is nothing like smelling fresh bread in the morning, mmm!! Anyways this week was full of so much goodness! Love you all! - Soeur Glazier Exchanges with the Sœurs in Angoulême ![]() Soccer for P-day Well, I can tell you that we all definitely have trials, and some are harder than others. But, Heavenly Father is there every step of the way and He doesn't give you a trial too hard that you can't overcome. Without these trials we would never ever grow to become the people that our Heavenly Father knows that we can become. I know that because boy was this week hard, but I also grew so much. Probably more than I have since being here. For some reason the rejection hurt so much more than usual and I felt like I had lost all my hope. Even though it was so hard and there were a lot of times where I wondered if Heavenly Father was really there, a quote from President Uchtdorf kept coming to my mind: "doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith". That kept me going this week and I knew that He was there for me. I also got a priesthood blessing and it felt so good and gave me that rejuvenation of hope! I know that that blessing was from God. It gave me so mush peace and comfort and it totally picked me up. After that week, I feel so ready to tackle what ever comes next. If you ever ever need help, never hesitate to ask for a priesthood blessing! Besides all of that, we had an awesome lesson with our amie K.... She is from Albania and doesn't really speak French, so we got permission to Skype with missionaries in Albania. So we just sat there, but the spirit was there! After the lesson we asked her when we could do it again, and she said, "I don't know, but whenever it is I really need to read the Book of Mormon to prepare!" We are so excited for her! Well that's a wrap! Talk to ya next week!! - Soeur Glazier It’s a tradition in France to serve crêpes on February 2, which was originally known as Virgin Mary’s Blessing day and then became known as avec Crêpe Day, referring to the ritual of offering crêpes. New transfer!! And Soeur Blackham and I are still killing it in Talence! We are so excited to spend another transfer together! Our area is amazing and the people here are wonderful. With /transfers we had a lot of the sisters spend the night, so that was a party. While some of the missionaries were waiting for their companions we took them around Bordeaux. We saw a cathedral, went shopping, got Stake n'Shake, went to a wine museum (hehe, didn't know it was that until after we got in) and we went on a boat down the river. It was a very successful day. Biscoff Shake As for amis, the family we are meeting with is really struggling, but even in their struggles they came to church! Another amie from Albania invited us to her son's birthday party. We were expecting something little so we made a banana bread cake for him. But when we walked in, no one was speaking French. Everyone was from Albania and there was crazy loud music going on. It wasn't that crazy, but it was loud and in a foreign language. But we got to see a cool traditional Albanian dance. It was all a little weird, so we left early.
Such a fun week! The mission is wonderful! I love the book of Mormon and I know it is true! Ahh I love the gospel!!! Well, have a wonderful week! - Soeur Glazier I was experiencing my first week as a missionary! How has time passed so fast? I have no idea. The past few days I have been reading through my journal and I can not believe how much I have grown! I have gone through some hard things the past year, and I have experienced so much happiness. I know that without the experiences that I have had this past year, I would not have grown as much as I have. I have learned to have trust in the Lord. That this is not all up to me. I am just a tool in His hands. Along with that, I have learned how much He is in the details of our lives. I have also learned that really and lasting and eternal joy comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been such a wonderful time. 1 Year! With Soeur Thorn, my MTC companion. With that, this week was a very hard week and I don't really know why. But even with that, we had some really happy times! On Friday there was a ward dinner and we got to eat some good food and talk with members. They had us all write our names on an envelope and stick it on the wall. Then through out the meal, we would go up and write a little note to someone and put it in their envelope. It was such a fun idea. On Sunday we had the family we are teaching come to church, and another amie named K...! It was her first time coming so we had fun introducing her to the members. She told us she has been reading the Book of Mormon and that every time she reads it she feels optimistic. For P-day I finally got to see Bordeaux, and it is BEAUTIFUL!! The buildings are so big and old and I love it! We went shopping down a street that is the longest shopping street in France! It was a lot of fun and I got to eat Bordeaux's specialty which is a Canelé. It was so good!! I will probably get another one soon, hehe! Love you all and have a great week! - Soeur Glazier District Meeting
Well, to start the week off we had zone conference! So all the sisters got to sleepover! Soeur Blackham and I had to present about finding and we focused on Abinadi. He went to talk King Noah and his people, not knowing if any one would accept his message. But he went anyways because of his love for the Lord. We talked about how important it is to talk to everyone because we love the Lord (thanks papa). After zone conference we got in the car and drove to Brive for exchanges! Brive is beautiful!! I got to spend the day with Soeur Yee On. We had a good day talking to people and had some great lessons. Oh, and Brive is known for their eclairs. They are so good and so huge! We were having such good exchanges that we missed our train to Bordeaux. So we were stuck for some time and then made it to Periguex and got stuck there for a while and didn't make it to Bordeaux until really late. The rest of the week was really good and we got to talk to a lot of cool people. At one point we were contacting and decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father where we should go. We prayed and then we thought about it for a bit. After some time Soeur Blackham asked me what I was thinking, and for some reason I was thinking, "let's read the scriptures". So we pulled the scriptures and just opened the scriptures. We came across Romans 8:14-28. One if my favorites that we read was verse 28. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." It was such a comforting scripture. We should be doing what the Lord asks us to do because we love Him. As we are doing that, He will guide us according to His purpose. Now a crazy story! We went to a members for crepe night and it was so good. But once we were done eating my stomach was really hurting. I thought I could deal with it, but soon it became unbearable and I leaned over to Soeur Blackham and told her that I wasn't feel good. In that moment I started to get really dizzy and my whole body went extremely pale, and I started to lose feeling in my hands and shaking, So they had to call the emergency number. They gave me a blessing and after a little bit, I started to get color back in my face, the feeling in my hands came back, and I was feeling better besides the pain in my stomach. It ended up taking an hour for a doctor to come, so I'm glad I wasn't dying! Turns out I have the stomach flu, and my body just crashed. So I'm on bed rest. So it was quite an adventure! Love you all! - Soeur Glazier Exchanges in Brive Lunch with an ami
What a crazy week it has been!! To start it off we went to Mont-de-Marsan to go on exchanges. It was so much fun! It was raining all day and we walked all over the place! We got to meet a lot of cool people. We also went to Angouleme to do exchanges as well. We had some awesome lessons and once again it was raining! Exchanges with the Soeurs in Angouleme. Angouleme Soeurs in Mont de Marsan This week we had a lesson with our ami A... that we found last week. We had an awesome lesson with him and he really liked it. At the end we asked him to say the closing prayer and he did! In it he told Heavenly Father thank you that he met us on the bus and how he knew it was no coincidence. It was so cool and it made us so happy! We also had a lesson with a lady that Soeur Blackham met on the bus who is from Albania. We were waiting in the church for her and as we were looking for her, we see her come around the corner with her family! We were so excited! We ended up doing the lesson in English since the husband speaks English and she speaks very little French, so he translated everything for her. They loved it! We are so excited to keep teaching them! Thank you for all of the birthday wishes!! It has been a very crazy day but I did eat some cake! I hope you all have a wonderful week!! - Soeur Glazier We got bagels at a cute restaurant with swings. What a wonderful week! Christmas in France was sooo good! One of the highlights was our surprise Christmas to a family we are teaching. They are from Albania and they were not able to have a Christmas. So us and ward members but together gifts for the kids and a Christmas dinner. One of the ward members even dressed up as Santa! It was so cute and they were all so happy! It was one of the happiest moments on my mission. This week we also had MLC (Mission Leadership Council), and we got to FLY to Lyon! I went on a plane! It was so much fun! And the conference was really good too! We talked A lot about goal setting and planning. If we want to go anywhere in life we need to set goals and plan on how we are going to get there. Soeur Blackham and I were getting so excited about it, we were talking about our goals for the future. We also had district meeting this week, and I got to see my MTC companion Soeur Thorn! It was a highlight of the week. This week, Soeur Blackham and I were talking about how it has been hard to find people. While talking, we got on a bus and this guy comes up to us and said, "I saw your plaque and I believe in Jesus too". We got in a conversation and have a time to meet with him and start teaching him! It was a miracle! And the best part is that his name is Ange which is Angel in French! It was amazing! Today after we finished our personal study, I turned to Soeur Blackham and said, "Soeur Blackham, I love the Book of Mormon!" As a missionary, she said she did too. She then told me that she didn't enjoy studying it as much before the mission, and I kind of had to agree with her. She continued saying that she read 1 Nephi 6 when he talks about why he is writing. Then in verse 5 he says, "Wherefore, the things which are pleasing unto the world I do not write, but the things which are pleasing unto God and unto those who are not of the world". The reason why she didn't like it much is because she was too much of the world! I had never thought about it like that. I then replied, "I feel like I just got slapped by an Angel". I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful New Year! - Soeur Glazier Next Monday (January 8th) is Soeur Glazier's 20th birthday. I thought it would be fun to blow up her inbox with birthday wishes that she can read throughout her week. So if you have a chance, her email is [email protected]. -- Her Mom :) Lyon when I left two weeks ago! Christmas miracle. It never snows in Lyon. ![]() What a crazy week! We got transfer calls and I am now in Bordeaux! My new companion is Soeur Blackham from California! I am so excited for this transfer!! Anyways, during the week we had a lesson with our amie V... and it was so good! We just talked with her and answered her questions about church. It was so good. She came to church this Sunday with her daughter too! It was so cute! They loved it and the ward loves them so much! Sunday was also our ward Christmas party and it was a blast! People invited their friends and we got to watch "The Spoken Word" with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Then we had great food! But it was sad to see all the wonderful people that I spent 4 months with that I had to say goodbye to. ![]() On Monday we woke up to snow! We were so excited, until we had to drive in it. Soeur Tway had no traction! And we were sliding everywhere! At one point we got stuck and I had to get out and push the car. After trying for a while, and coming to the conclusion that I couldn't do it, I asked some people for help. We eventually got out and came to the conclusion that we wouldn't be able to get me to my train to Bordeaux in this snow. So we decided to try to take the buses with the other sisters. But while we were trying to park we got stuck in the snow again, and I had to go out and push again! We then found out that they canceled all of the buses, so we had no way to get to the station. We ended up calling some members and they drove us to the station. It took about an hour when it should have been 15 minutes, so I missed my train. Luckily they had another sister stay back to go with me so I wouldn't have to go alone. After traveling all day, I made it to Bordeaux, and I am so excited to get to work here! I hope you all have a wonderful christmas!! - Soeur Glazier We had to get food for the Christmas Conference and put it all in our car. So much!!! Today we had our Christmas conference and it was so much fun!! One of the activities we had was taking bags of candy with a candle and our card out to people. We had to give one to a man, a woman, a girl with a scarf, someone on wheels, and we had to go to someone's door. So it was me and Soeur Tway and two other Soeurs. I was so excited, but I was really surprised at how many people said no to our little gift. It was getting a little discouraging, but we met a lot of people who were very touched by our gift. Eventually we had one bag left that I had to give out. I was trying to talk to everyone I saw, but they all said no. We had to get back to church so we decided to say a prayer that we would be able to find someone who would except our gift. Right after we said amen, this lady walked around the corner and we were all saying, "it's her!!" Luckily it was a red light and no one was behind us, so I jumped out of the car and ran to her and asked her if I could give her this gift. She was so touched and so happy! It was so sweet to see the change in her face from a little gift. One of the highlights this week was that our amie V... came to church for the first time! She came a while before us so we ran to church trying to find her, and she was already talking to members and they were all introducing themselves. After sacrament we asked her what she thought and she said she really liked it and felt something special. Later in gospel principles she told the people in the class how touched she was by everyone's kindness when she first came. I felt so much love for the ward. I felt so happy to be at church with her. Just the little moments when people progress brings me so much joy. The mission is amazing, but I have had so many hard times. So many times where I have had to fall onto my knees and cry unto the Lord. And sometimes I don't get the answer right away. I think I have more hard days than good days, but even though the good days are few, they outweigh all the bad. I honestly don't remember all the hard times, but I do remember all the times the Lord has blessed me. Count your many blessings, name them one by one! Cause they are there! -Soeur Glazier A funny bumper sticker we saw while driving around.
